How H.R.1/OBBBA Affects Rhode Islanders — Center on Budget and Policy Priorities' Slide Deck

Last updated: November 05, 2025

During a briefing hosted by the Economic Progress Institute, legislators learned that H.R. 1 — the “OBBBA” — is already having devastating consequences for Rhode Islanders.

Nick Gwyn, Senior Fellow for Government Affairs at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP), presented information on this critical topic. CBPP is a nonpartisan research and policy institute that advances federal and state policies to help build a nation where everyone — regardless of income, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, ZIP code, immigration status, or disability status — has the resources they need to thrive and share in the nation’s prosperity.
