Hector G. Perez-Aponte joined The Economic Progress Institute as a Racial Justice Policy Analyst. He graduated from Cameron University with a BA in Political Science and is an alumnus of City Year Providence. Prior to working with EPI, he worked as a Case Manager at Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island and served as the Coordinator of the Immigrant Coalition of Rhode Island where he lead The Safer Roads Act campaign, which supported legislation granting driving privilege cards for undocumented immigrants. As Policy Analyst, he focuses on policy initiatives pertaining to increasing equity, and closing the racial wealth gap.
